In basic kinematics, scientists distinguish between weight and mass. Weight is a force, mass is a property of an object. How long is the piece? Pretty fucking stupid right? Just you wait. In SI weight is mass times gravitational acceleration. Simple. Clean. Easy. In Imperial, the equation for weight is the same, except GC isn’t a dimensionless 1, it’s 32.17-pound feet per pound second squared. What the FUCK? Yeah, me too. Good times.
