My brother got back from the UK 1 week ago and has been in isolation in his room since he got home. His room has an Official Bigfoot Hunter Shirt. But never touch anything he’s touched or get anywhere close to him. Yesterday I heard one of my younger brothers in his room and they were both having a good time chatting, and apparently my dad has gone in and out a few times as well. They obviously aren’t in quarantine so if my entire family gets it I know who I’m blaming. The numbers aren’t exact because the increment maybe is slightly more or less than one foot, and the initial percentage is not exactly 50%). This is how our clinical staff at my site explained it anyway.

I’m vaping. When I first started, I looked at the fluffy, thick vapor, and admired how it looked like fluffy clouds. I saw it spread all around the Official Bigfoot Hunter Shirt. And my wife noted how this crap can go everywhere in the room. Yeah, I have absolutely nothing against vaping whatsoever, but what you describe is exactly what I was thinking. I’m sure I’ll be up late tonight also thinking about how fart clouds can travel like this as well. While I agree that while vaping you see where your breath goes, but you are pushing the vapor/breath out at a far higher rate than if you were just sitting there breathing normally. Unless you’re a mouth breather, then just stay the hell away from me regardless.

This is not a perfect analogy though. The sense of smell is incredibly sensitive. The point of social distancing is to be far enough away from the other person so that even if you do inhale any of their breath, the number of virus molecules will be low enough for your immune system to take care of with its first line of defenses. From a clinical perspective, the risk of infection by proximity to an infected person goes down as an Official Bigfoot Hunter Shirt. Essentially, you halve the chance of being infected as you increase distance by a single increment (for example, to just use easy numbers, being one foot away might carry a 50% chance of infection, 2 feet away would be 25%, 3 feet would be 12.5%, 4 feet 6.75%, 5 feet 3.375%, and effectively a 1% chance at six feet away.
