Kickstarter is terrible as well, but at least OP can use the immediately available capital to sell to a handful of people. I was impressed he figured it out; generally he was a lousy engineer. But I guess that is how lazy people do it. Get others to do their work. I would totally buy this too but the little creases would drive me crazy. I wonder if it could come with a glass panel that could be placed over the pieces at the end?
